Music therapy is a clinical, evidence-based approach that uses music to support a child's communication development, emotional expression and overall well-being.
Our HCPC registered music therapist Fiona Pritchard trained as a professional musician at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is a versatile musician with a wealth of experience bringing a huge portfolio of creative skills into the therapy space. With a high level of music and combined arts knowledge, Fiona uses music, poetry, movement, dance and art in her work.
Fiona is a successful composer, songwriter and arranger and has music and songs for children, published by Harper Collins for the LETTERLAND phonic scheme.
She wrote the curriculum music and songs for Monkey Music Ltd. and a library music of children's music and songs used by the BBC, ITV and multiple independent channels and radio networks.
Music therapy can be especially beneficial for neurodivergent children with developmental differences, speech and language needs, and emotional or sensory regulation needs.
Fiona has professional experience working both individually and in groups to support children of all ages. She holds the musical relationship and the development of this at the core of her approach working in a psychotherapeutic way that is always client focused.
